Color Story: Mint and Cantaloupe
Now here’s a combination that says spring, Spring, SPRING!
While these shades of green and orange seem fresh and modern (and they are), they can be traced right back to the Art Deco period. Fun fact: if you’re traveling through Milwaukee, check out the Art Deco Ambassador Hotel.
Art Deco was said to represent luxury, glamour, exuberance, and faith in social and technological progress. Sounds pretty modern to me! Also for your consideration: an Art Deco palette.
This color combination, like so many, comes straight from nature (and possibly the cantaloupe itself!). Otherwise, who would have thought to mix these two shades, which seemingly have nothing in common? They are not shades of the sames color nor are they complementary colors.
Here’s another gorgeous photo of this mix. Don’t you love the texture of the feathers on the bag?
So, weigh in: mint and cantaloupe. Yea or Nay?
