The SAG Awards

All right, round two!  I first want to give a shout out to David Meister.  He dresses a lot of celebrities and they more often than not look pretty good in his gowns.  Last night Diane Lane and Jane Lynch both wore David Meister, and very well too, I might add.

Tilda Swinton is always a favorite of mine, and she did not disappoint in a beautiful Lanvin gown.  Maya Rudolph also looked great in a Naeem Khan gown; I loved the bead work on the bodice especially.

I’m not usually a fan of Michelle Williams’ style, but boy did she rock that red Valentino number!

Shailene Woodley’s dress by L’Wren Scott was also one of my faves.  I loved the colors and the pattern.

Viola Davis looked stunning, and she won!  Yay!  Her white and gold gown was by Marchesa, which was surprising to me:  Marchesa usually strikes me as frou-frou, but not this one:  this one was a knockout.

I saved the best for last:  Octavia Spencer.  I thought she looked so good at the Golden Globes, but I think I liked this Tadashi Shoji gown even more.  A stunning floral lace top and smooth sheen skirt in platinum, she looked so, so lovely.  And she won, too!  Her date, best friend Josh Hopkins from Cougar Town, said, “There’s really nothing better than to see your friend’s dreams come true.  I know people are just starting to discover her, but she’s been working for this for a long time.”  So sweet!
