What Would Auntie Mame Do?

But darling, I'm your Auntie Mame!

A new periodic feature to the blog wherein we ask the Greats a few questions from the Proust Questionnaire.  Who better to start with than Auntie Mame herself?

What is your idea of perfect happiness?  Being surrounded by all my loved ones at a fantastic cocktail party, and then jetting off to discover worlds I’ve never dreamed of!

What is your greatest fear?  Fear?  That I will not love those I love enough.

What is your most treasured possession?  Anything my darling boy Patrick or his son Peter handmade for me.

What do you most value in your friends?  The ability to hold their liquor, but not their tongues.

What is your motto?  You know this one:  Live!  Life is a banquet, and most poor suckers are starving to death!

P.S.  If you haven’t seen Auntie Mame, I strongly advise you to make a date with her very soon.  And if you haven’t read Patrick Dennis’ Auntie Mame:  An Irreverent Escapade, check it out from your local library.  Sheer delight!
